Internship at Josephine Chong LLC

Our program combines mini-lectures on law and procedure with hands-on experience including attendances at client meetings and negotiations with opposing counsel, mediations, court hearings, preparation of correspondence, research briefs, court documents, use of e-Litigation with opportunities for the intern to learn from industry experts including Josephine Chong herself.

The following are some testimonials from post-A level interns:

My time interning at Josephine Chong LLC was incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. During my internship, I was exposed to a variety of cases and got to work hands-on on some cases, which gave me valuable practical experience. My experience interning under Ms Chong's guidance honed my ability to think critically and strengthened my desire to study law with the goal of practicing one day.

The real-world experience and skills I picked up during my internship have been applicable to my studies in law school as well. Aside from helping me think on my feet during my law school admission interviews, the time I spent at Josephine Chong LLC has helped me to evaluate problems more holistically, spot issues accurately and tackle legal issues much more precisely.

Overall, my experience at Josephine Chong LLC widened my perspective of what it means to practice law, and the skills I learnt have helped me to navigate law school with more clarity.

NJC Class of 2024
NUS Law Class of 2029

My internship at Josephine Chong LLC helped to give me a realistic understanding of what working in law actually looks like. I was able to observe client interactions, sit in on discussions about ongoing cases and help with drafting and research work. Seeing how legal disputes affected actual people, especially in family and access matters, made me realise how emotional and personal legal work can be.

The internship also helped me speak more naturally and confidently during law admissions interviews because I was no longer talking about law only from an academic perspective. I could talk about real experiences and observations that genuinely shaped my interest in the field. It made me appreciate that being a lawyer is not just about knowing the law, but also about communication, empathy and handling difficult situations carefully. Overall, the experience confirmed my interest in studying law and gave me a clearer understanding of the kind of work I hope to do in the future.

My internship at Josephine Chong LLC was an incredibly rewarding experience that gave me meaningful exposure to the legal profession. From the very beginning, I was welcomed into a supportive environment where I was encouraged to learn, ask questions, and observe how legal work is carried out in practice. One of the most memorable aspects of the internship was seeing the level of dedication and care that goes into representing clients.

It became clear that legal practice is not simply about applying legal principles but also about building trust, understanding each client's unique circumstances, and working diligently to achieve the best possible outcome. Observing the professionalism and integrity of the law firm left a lasting impression on me and deepened my respect for the profession. It gave me greater confidence in my career aspirations and inspired me to continue developing the skills needed to succeed in the field.
